Chuck Selent

Chuck has over 17 years of law enforcement experience as a veteran level one reserve Sheriff Deputy and Police Officer. He is a Private Investigator for the last several years and owner/director of Advantage ISS Inc. and Advantage Adolescent and Interim Services. Chuck has over 25 years experience working in diversified environments with "at-risk" adolescents. He was a former manager for crisis interventions and special services with a large adolescent services organization / programs in the northwest for 12 years. Chuck is CPI, CPR and first aid certified, and an instructor in verbal de-escalation and passive physical intervention techniques. His credits also include well over a hundred successful juvenile runaway locations and interventions, short term interim care for adolescents, and he is cleared through California Trust Line Registry. Chuck has flown well over a million miles in his work with adolescents with hundreds of successful transports and escorts to his credits.

Mike Decker

Mike is a retired law enforcement officer from the Oakland CA police department. He is a private investigator. Mike started working with "at -risk" adolescents outside of law enforcement, in 2001. He has participated in hundreds of successful escorts throughout the US, Canada, and Jamaica. In addition to adolescent escorts, mike has conducted dozens of successful searches and interventions for runaway and missing children. Mike brings his extensive experience as a law enforcement officer and father to the task at hand. When working with "at -risk" adolescents, Mike has a real gift in being able to accurately "read" a child to ensure a successful outcome with both escorts and runaway searches and interventions.

 

 

 

 

 

Brenda Selent

Brenda has been involved in working with “at – risk” adolescents since 1994. She has been involved in dozens of successful transports, numerous runaway interventions and many interim care/safe house situations with young people over the years. Brenda is CPI and First Aid certified. Brenda has a passion in working with young people along with her hobbies which include gardening, decorating and animals.

 

 

 

 

 

David Kramer

Dave has extensive experience as a 30-year veteran law enforcement Officer, including 20 years as a Police Chief, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He has served in leadership roles as the President of the Montana/Idaho chapter of FBI National Academy Associates and the Idaho Chiefs of Police. Dave is active in the community having served as President of the Rotary Club, where he is also a Paul Harris Fellow, and a 30-year active member of the Search and Dive Team where he serves as the Dive Team Leader. Dave has worked with at risk youth and adults most of his life, and has developed a way to calm situations, and use critical thinking skills to deescalate situations for a positive outcome. He enjoys working with adolescents, and has done escorts for "at-risk" adolescents since the early 90's. He has been an Advanced EMT working on a volunteer ambulance, and maintains his first aid skills. Dave also is a professional photographer and enjoys everything outdoors from skiing, to hiking, scuba diving and riding ATV's. He has coached a Special Olympics snowshoe team for several years, and is still active in supporting the Special Olympics programs.

 

Andrea Kramer

Andrea is a very outgoing person that has dynamic people skills that allow her to identify and start communication with most everyone, putting them at ease.  She has a solid background that includes working in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff and investigations. Andrea received special honors when she graduated from the Idaho Police Academy. Some of her specialized training included hostage negotiations and critical incident stress debriefing. Andrea has also been a State certified Instructor for emergency dispatchers, and taught Emergency Medical Technician classes (EMT’s). Andrea had a passion for photography where she operates a professional photography studio and she enjoys working with “at-risk” adolescents. Having escorted several youths to different locations around the country allows the family to rest a little easier knowing that their child will be well cared for and respected.

 

 

Mike Pintler

Mike is highly proficient in a diversity of skills, manifesting from 12 years of experience working with at risk youth, ranging from residential treatment settings, to wilderness placement. Once a former student, Mike specializes in verbal de-escalation tactics, and brings excellent interpersonal communication skills to aid families during a time of need. In addition to having a B.A. in Social Behavioral Science, Mike also has a vast array of certifications including; W.F.R, C.P.I, S.P.I, C.P.R, and First Aid. Mike’s philosophy of “all children can be saved” has touched the lives of hundreds of families. Mike enjoys motocross, snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, hunting, mechanics, and camping with his wife and three children.

 

Danielle Pintler

Danielle brings forth a heightened level of both compassion and experience when working with at risk youth. Having viewed the therapeutic environments through the eyes of a sibling, and having 7 years experience working in both therapeutic residential boarding schools, and the wilderness environment, she can connect with almost any child. In addition to providing a safe and secure environment for transportation, Danielle is also a counselor/educator/and advocate for children with learning disabilities and special needs. Danielle has been able to reach even the most oppositional students, and provide a positive experience for all.

 

David Brinkman

David has been working with teenagers in the public and private school setting for over a decade now. His work with "at-risk" youth includes time as a direct care staff, host parent, adolescent transport provider and admissions counselor. Within the local community he has served as the chairman for the Boundary County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, Idaho Drug Free Youth advisor, volunteered for Project Phoenix and much more.

He received his degree in Psychology after attending North Idaho College and the University of Idaho. He has also been certified through Idaho Prevention Institute training as well as continuing his education in the areas of youth, families and drug addiction through seminars and workshop training. He is CPI, CPR, and First Aid Certified.

David and his wife are licensed care providers for young people through the state of Idaho. They provide a safe, structured, caring environment that allows the students with them an opportunity to work toward a positive future.

 

Allen Ashby

Allen Ashby is currently serving as a Trooper with the Idaho State Police, a position he's held since January 2007. Prior to Idaho State Police , Ashby served as a Patrol Officer for Bonners Ferry Police Department and worked in law enforcement since 2001. Ashby has a Bachelors degree in Justice Studies and is working towards a Masters degree in Public Administration. Ashby has also completed numerous advanced law enforcement and college courses on adolescent issues and has worked with various school districts throughout Idaho developing Emergency Action Plans and addressing safety issues in both public and private school settings.

Ashby has worked various assignments with "at-risk" youth and young adults, including being a D.A.R.E. and School Resource Officer in Junior High, High School, and Alternative High School settings. He enjoys working as a counselor at a large adolescent church camp in Montana.

 

Eric & Penny Mescher

Eric Mescher is a retired Law Enforcement officer with over thirty (30) years of service in Northern Idaho. He served with Kootenai County Sheriff's Department, Coeur d'Alene City Police Department, and the last twenty (20) years with the Idaho State Police. He is well versed in first aid having spent several years as an EMT, holds an American Red Cross Instructorship in CPR and AED, and is trained in CPI for use with adolescents and young adults. Eric has spent over sixteen years serving on the Law Enforcement Torch Run council for the Idaho Special Olympics. Over the last few years Eric has also worked with "at risk and troubled teens" along with currently taking care of two Autistic young adults with his wife Penny who also works with Advantage AAIS. Eric has successfully transported adolescents and worked with Advantage AAIS assisting families in many successful transports, crisis interventions, and runaway location and investigations.

Robert & Sheila Lavala

Both Robert & Sheila have been working with healthy and “at risk” youth (and adults) since 1986. Riding their motorcycle to outlaw biker gatherings, Robert & Sheila would become “un-licensed” counselors to the hurting and those with drug and alcohol addictions.  Having come from abusive and drug-addicted backgrounds, these two are able to administer both love and compassion to the hardest cases.  In 1993 they moved into the realm of pastor and for the next 12+ years were in senior leadership in non-denominational churches.  The Lavalas have traveled internationally and have dealt with drug addiction, witchcraft, alcoholism and high-level dysfunction in family structures worldwide.  The Lavalas have been part of “In Home” interventions and have transported sons and daughters  of worried parents without incident to various programs around the country.

The Lavalas own & operate a martial art studio and Sheila is a 1st degree Black Belt and Robert is studying for his 3rd degree.  Sheila is CPI, CPR certified.
